Official announcement confirms the continuation of one of anime’s biggest recent surprises
The adaptation of The Apothecary Diaries has just been officially renewed for its third season. The announcement was made during a special event in Japan, accompanied by new promotional art featuring Maomao, the protagonist who has captivated fans worldwide with her intelligence and unique personality.
The anime, based on the light novel written by Natsu Hyuuga and illustrated by Touko Shino, follows the story of a curious young woman who, after being kidnapped and sold as a servant in the imperial palace, uses her knowledge of medicine and poisons to solve mysteries and assist figures of the court.
Release date and production confirmed
The third season of The Apothecary Diaries is scheduled to premiere in April 2026 in Japan. In Brazil, the launch will take place simultaneously via Crunchyroll, with Portuguese subtitles and dubbing. TOHO Animation remains in charge of production, keeping the same team that worked on the previous seasons.
There is still no confirmation on the total number of episodes, but the producers have promised to continue adapting the current light novel arc, maintaining the focus on palace life and Maomao’s new investigations.
